The 2006 "Sexiest Man Alive" Is....

I know - shocker!! But seriously - you picked him. I did not swing the votes - I promise. With 22% of the vote - he is clearly your choice as "The Sexiest Man - ALIVE"!! The fact that I COMPLETELY agree is just the cherry on top!

He didn't really have a busy year - career-wise. As 2006 began - he was still riding the critical praise and possible Oscar nomination (at that time) for "Brokeback Mountain" - just becoming a household name and one of the biggest pop culture icons to come out of 2006 - you know, not a real busy year. After that all died down (around August '06) - he stepped back and took a break.

He did his best to stay out of the spotlight for this year - seemed to try to be a regular person. He is one of those rare celebrities who don't feed off of their own fame. He seems to be content just being Jake. No "drunken encounters, DUI arrests, or Hyde club hopping" for him. He does has fun, of course, but he is definitely on a much less public level, plus with tons of humanitarian causes under his belt - he shows that there is much more to him than his celebrity. Now we just need to make sure Paris, Britney, Nicole or Lindsey stay the HELL away.

I think anyone would agree that the biggest Jake moments came this year when Jake was on his bike - which he did alot.

The result - a role as Lance Armstrong in the biker's biopic for Jake and some really good photos for us. Win Win.

2007 is looking pretty good as well. We got Jake on 'SNL" (a first) early January, "Zodiac" is opening in March, and the aforementioned Armstrong pic. And we don't even know what sport he is going to pick up this summer and run around shirtless in yet! So good stuff is a comin' - and "The Big Bad Blog" will be there.

So - as we crown this years "Sexiest Man" - here are a few examples of Jake at his best and why he has the crown. A little "best of" collection with some of my favorites from the archives - Merry Christmas!
