In The Works: Die Hard IV - "Live Free or Die Hard"

I think it is pretty common knowledge (at least in my head) that the original "Die Hard" IS the best action movie ever made. I've always been a big fan.

Saw it in the theatres about 100 times that summer - couldn't get enough.
And, strangely enough, the two sequels that followed were good as well. Not as good as the first, of course, but they stood on their own.

"Die Hard With A Vengeance" was a little bit of a departure from the other two - leaving the "trapped in a small space" storyline behind and using the entire city of New York - instead of a building and an airport.
Now according to "The Hollywood Reporter" another sequel is in production now and has a release date: June 29, 2007.
The plot is a story of an attack on the U.S. computer infrastructure that begins to shut down the country. The mysterious figure behind the scheme has figured out every digital angle but never counts on the old-fashioned, "analog" McClane.
The cast has been set. Bruce Willis is, of course, the "ever lucky" John McClane.

Timothy Olyphant will be playing McClane's nemesis - the computer mastermind behind the attack. Olyphant is known for HBO's "Deadwood" and was in the movies "Go" and "Gone In 60 Seconds".

Timothy Olyphant as a psycho drug dealer in "Go"
Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast as John's now grown-up daughter, Lucy McClane.
Justin Long and Maggie Q have also been cast - but info on their roles have not been available as of yet.

I'm actually excited about this release. Even though I am not crazy about the title, "Die Hard" and it's sequels definitely rank up there as some of my all-time favorites. And Bruce Willis has passed on ALOT of scripts proposed for this sequel (one was set on a cruise ship) - so hopefully he held out for the best one.
Fingers crossed.
More info will be given as it becomes available.
